On Saturday, November 11th, the Lego Maniacs, a F.I.R.S.T. Lego League team in Mountain Home, AR, held a Morgan Nick Alert Photo ID event, in conjunction with the Arkansas State Police, THV channel 11, and the Mountain Home Wal-mart store.

Morgan Nick Alert is Arkansas statewide plan for the safe return of abducted or lost children.

Pictures were taken with a digital camera and computer disks, provided by Wal-Mart, were given to the parent to keep with them.

In the event a child is lost or missing, these disks can be used by law enforcement agencies and broadcast stations to alert the public of the missing child.

Mayor Joe Dillard was in attendance, proclaiming November 11th, as Morgan Nick Alert Day.

Barbara Wagner, Special Projects Director at THV channel 11 news, and Trooper Randall Dias, State Public Relations officer for the Arkansas State Police, worked at the event, explaining the Morgan Nick Alert program to the parents and children as they received their photo disc.

Over 600 children were photographed during this one event.

The Lego Maniacs Lego League team assisted the photographer, demonstrated a Lego's robot, and invited parents and children to the regional "Volcanic Panic" competition on December 2, 2000, at the Mountain home high school Gym.
