Responsibilities at ASUMH include teaching
general biology, botany, zoology, human anatomy & physiology, as well
as some of the biology courses required for the mortuary science program.
A new course in entomology (the study of insects)will be offered in spring
2003.
Involved in various volunteer community
service projects, Among them are the mentoring program through Baxter County
Juvenile Services / Alternative School and participation in a social justice
organization, Embracing Diversity Group.
I also enjoy canoeing, camping, and backpacking. |

Dr. Alex Dunlap
Dr. Dunlap graduated from the University
of Arkansas with his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and in animal
science in 1984.
He earned his doctorate in veterinary
medicine from Louisiana State University in 1989, and in 1996 he received
his doctorate in medicine from the University of Tennessee.
Between 1991-1995, Dr. Dunlap supported
five NASA space flights - as a biospecimen program team member and a project
veterinarian during the Spacelab Life Sciences; as a team member for the
physiological and anatomical rodent experiment; as a payload Specials/support
scientist and veterinarian for Spacelab Life Sciences; and as a veterinarian/surgeon
at the Dryden Landing Site.
Currently, Dr. Dunlap is a payload specialist
candidate for STS-90, Neurolab.

Dr. Michael Langevin
Dr. Langevin has practiced in Mountain
Home since 1979.
He received his B.S. in Zoology from
Arkansas State University in 1975 and attended Southern College of Optometry
in Memphis, TN for his doctorate.
He is a member of numerous professional
organizations and regularly lectures to the Anatomy and Physiology classes
at ASU-MH campus.
Dr. Langevin has raised two children
and is active in the local soccer association. He has coached at all age
levels and is still an active referee for recreational soccer as well as
the state high school level. He was instrumental in the institution of the
women's high school soccer team in Mountain Home.
Comments: The appreciation of science
and its everyday application in ones life cannot be over estimated. I am
very happy to serve and make this a possibility in a young adults life. |

Mr. Rick Russell
Mr. Russel graduated from Mountain
Home High School in 1968.
He received his BS degree in Business
Administration from Arkansas State University in 1971.
He has worked at Capital Mercury Shirt
Factory, Sears Roebuck and Co., and is currently with Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
At Wal-Mart, his positions of responsibility
have included Asst. Manager, Store Manager, Buyer of Lawn & Garden,
Director of Transportation, District Manager, Regional Vice-President of
Operations and Senior Vice-President of Forecasting/Replenishment/New Store
Merchandising/Merchandising-Modular Planning.
He and his wife Beverly have three (grown)
children and four grandchildren all of Rogers, Ar. |

Mr. Ray Simon
Ray Simon was selected by the State
Board of Education and confirmed by Governor Mike Huckabee to serve as the
Director of the Arkansas Department of Education, effective September 22,
1997.
He received his bachelor's and master's
degrees in mathematics from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway,
and an educational specialist degree in school administration from the University
of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
Previous to this time, he served seven
years as Assistant Superintendent for Finance and six years as Superintendent
for the Conway Public Schools.
He worked 18 years in the North Little
Rock School District as a mathematics teacher, food service director, and
director of computer services.
Mr. Simon was adjunct professor at the
University of Central Arkansas Graduate School (Public School Finance),
the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (Computer Science for Graduate
Teachers), and Arkansas State University, Beebe (Computer Science for Undergraduate
Teachers).
He has served in leadership roles for
numerous professional organizations.
United States Secretary of Education
Rod Paige nominated him for the National Assessment Governing Board. He
currently serves on this Board which sets policy for the National Assessment
of Educational Progress.
He resides in Conway with his wife, Phyllis. They have one married daughter,

Professor of Industrial Engineering,
University of Arkansas, Fayetteville for 20 years teaching and conducting
research in ergonomics, quality control and design of experiments.
He is also a Professor in the Occupational
and Environmental Health program at the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from
the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Masters in Engineering
Psychology from the University of Illinois.
Prior to joining the U of A he was at
General Motors Institute (now known as Kettering Institute) in Flint Michigan
for five years and was a Principal Engineer at Calspan Corporation (now
known as Veridian Corporation) in Buffalo, NY for five years.
His research and development experience
has included managing the development of the training program for the US
Air Force B-1 aircrew, conducting automobile interior design studies for
Hyundai and Kia Motors in Korea, and providing occupational ergonomics consulting
services for over 50 Fortune 500 companies.

History, and English in Louisiana, Cotter and Mountain Home for a total
of 15 years

business after teaching
For the past 10 years I have worked for
the City of Mountain Home as the Superintendent of City Parks
I am an avid organic gardener and member
of the Baxter County Master Gardener Program

Exploring the Ozarks to discover the
native plants of Arkansas is a favorite pastime
